EN Objects are carefully wrapped in plastic, fabric, or other temporary coverings. The title refers to tsutsumi (包み), the Japanese art of wrapping, in which care, precision, and respect are central, and the wrapping is just as meaningful as what it encloses. That idea resonates in these images. What is visible is simultaneously concealed. Forms remain recognizable, but details disappear beneath a veil of distance. The act of wrapping suggests care, preservation, perhaps even respect. However, a tension also arises: between revealing and concealing, use and stillness. The objects seem to be waiting for unveiling, for touch, for their function.

NL Objecten zijn zorgvuldig ingepakt in plastic, stof of andere tijdelijke omhulsels. De titel verwijst naar tsutsumi (包み), de Japanse kunst van het verpakken, waarin zorg, precisie en respect centraal staan, en de verpakking even betekenisvol is als wat zij omsluit. Die gedachte resoneert in deze beelden. Wat zichtbaar is, wordt tegelijk onttrokken. Vormen blijven herkenbaar, maar details verdwijnen onder een huid van afstand. De handeling van het inpakken suggereert zorg, behoud, misschien zelfs respect. Maar er ontstaat ook een spanning: tussen tonen en verbergen, gebruik en stilstand. De objecten lijken te wachten op onthulling, op aanraking, op hun functie.
